Baby proofing your doors has never been simpler or more discreet
Hollow core - Lightweight doors need an easy, light weight solution to stop their slamming. If you desire a gentle close without a slam, you'll want our SoftSlam - Light. For a heavier close for households with rambunctious children, you may want to use a medium or a heavy to discourage the kids from playing with doors or to prevent heavy winds from slamming the door.
Solid core - Heavy doors need a more robust solution to slamming. The use of a SoftSlam light in these doors would be nearly unnoticeable though would still help mitigate door injuries and door damages due to vibrations. To prevent the forces from building up and loud or dangerous slam at the end of the swing, you need a high rate of energy absorption from your SoftSlam.
Aluminium doors require special consideration to stop slamming due to the variations of profiles used by the different manufacturers. If you can provide a photo of your aluminium profile, it will help us ensure that you get the proper accessories for your installation. Shown left is a SoftSlam light installed through the hinge of an aluminium door. The builder who owns this door is happy as. This is a DIY installation as well.
Nick completing a SoftSlam installation in 760mm hollow core interior access door from the garage to the house that slammed terribly, loosening the screws in the hinges. In most houses, this is the "problem" slamming door. Hallway doors and front and back doors can be slammers too. Any door that slams without human contact may cause serious pet or child injury.
Customer Testimonial - Funny Story - We chanced upon Nick checking on his install at Signature Homes while walking our puppy. He struck up a conversation about SoftSlam. We were so sick of our garage door slamming. I was about to run to the store to buy something for it. He offered to do the install for free so, yeah. I think SoftSlam is as important as smoke detectors for keeping your home safe. - Charlie and Cassandra
